Balance Bars

balance bars2 Balance BarsIs this a candy bar threatening to sabotage your weight loss efforts?  Fat chance. Balance Bars Balance Bars are protein bars disguised as forbidden treats.  But you won’t feel guilty eating these.  They are high in protein – with 15 grams per bar – and they come in irresistible flavors like cookie dough, chocolate mint cookie crunch, yogurt honey peanut, and caramel nut blast.

The strict diet schedule I was on prior to having kids (you can view it on my FAQ’s page) often meant that I was taking snacks with me.  Balance Bars were a top choice.  I love what they did to help me get a dream body.  Because they are high in protein, they helped me build muscle a lot faster.

There were times when I had to have a meal on-the-go and I did not have a lunch packed.  Two Balance Bars to the rescue!  They served as a meal replacement when I needed them, even while I was trying different recipes from the Zone Diet.  The Zone Diet is rooted in scientific research showing the health and weight-loss benefits of a 40:30:30 nutrition ratio.  That is, 40% of your diet is made up of carbohydrates, 30% from protein, and 30% from fat.  Balance Bars also follow this  principle.

There are plenty of places that sell Balance Bars like Walmart, GNC, or Dillons.  Any place that sells protein bars will probably have them.  They can be pricey, so what I like to do is get them on sale at Dillons ($1 per bar is the best price I have seen).  If I am lucky enough to snag a coupon for them, the price gets even lower (A 50-cent coupon at Dillons translates into a free Balance Bar at the $1 price because Dillons doubles coupons!)
